Bruxie Hill House
The brief was to build a new timber framed house with indoor swimming pool on a rural site outside Stonehaven.
The house is designed to sit into the sloping site. The indoor swimming pool is located in a semi-basement constructed from Beco Wallform insulated block system with glazing on one facade. The remainder of the house is designed over two upper floors; a large open plan, double height space accommodates the living room, dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom and en-suite bathroom are also located on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are a further two bedrooms and balcony overlooking the main living spaces. The dwelling is designed with highly insulated timber frame construction, clad in Scottish Larch with a slate roof. Other features of the dwelling are an efficient underfloor heating system supplied by a ground source heat pump.
