Tess graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in 2003, becoming a registered architect in 2005. Her work as an architect has allowed her to be involved in a wide variety of projects often in sensitive natural and historic contexts and she has developed a keen interest in building conservation and historic buildings. Throughout her career and education she has been passionate about the importance of social, economic and ecological responsibility within architecture and was involved with a community project to design and construct a straw bale community classroom.

Tess has worked in practices in  Scotland, Cumbria, Cardiff and also spent time during her studies working in Charlottesville in Virginia, USA. She has recently has spent time working in Energy Management, where she took a lead role developing and delivering a company wide energy awareness campaign and gained an Energy Management qualification from the Energy Institute.

Tess joined the practice in 2015.
